This alliance was developed in order to adequately meet the needs of our constituency for the more technical training, and in particular the Microsoft Office Suite of programs i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc., that have become an integral part of the business environment today. Through this arrangement, we are now able to expand our eduactional offerings in an environment that is fully equipped to meet those needs in a classroom atmosphere that is fully equipped to meet those needs in classrooms complete with new desktop computers taught by knowledgable, experienced intructors.

Class schedules are available on their website: www.sccbi.com

FM Master's Program

A friendly, but important reminder: The ASU FM grad program application is about to enter its fall semester. This is truly an outstanding program. We believe all FM's should take advantage of the classes regardless if you are pursuing a Master's degree or just want to take selective courses for unique needs or to update your skills. Our committee is dedicated to making available quality programs that will help to further develop the skills and awareness of our member which are so essential in today's complex environment.

The Education Committee is very excited to announce the development of bringing higher education to Chapter members. The Del E. Webb School of Construction (DEWSC) Masters of Science in Construction with a councentration in Facility Management is a 30 hour program. The curriculum for the program entails 24 hours of coursework and 6 hours of oriented Thesis research. This is a self-paced program that can be completed in less than 2 years. Most courses meet once a week in the evenings. Next year, some courses will be available for completion online.

We currently have 6 members of the Chapter participating, two of which are near completion and implementing the concepts at their place of work. We are anticipating a dozen new students (including IFMA members) for next year. It's not too late to apply and the online application makes it easy and quick. Please download and review the program details and application procedures before starting the online application.
